💡 Paid IT Internship – Overview
The IT Intern will work under the supervision of the Urban Project Manager and report technically to the Information Management Systems (IMS) Coordinator. The core objective is to provide essential IT support to ensure the functionality and reliability of DRC systems and services. Paid IT Internship
You’ll contribute to:
- Installing and configuring authorized hardware and software.
- Offering technical support for hardware, network, and system issues.
- Backing up company data to OneDrive and SharePoint.
- Assisting in delivering digital skills training to youth.
- Monitoring server performance for optimal functionality and uptime.
- Maintaining backup systems for beneficiaries’ databases.
- Overseeing cybersecurity and preventative maintenance.
🧩 Core Duties & Responsibilities of Paid IT Internship
✔️ Set up and manage hardware, authorized software, printers, scanners, and networks
✔️ Provide timely troubleshooting and liaise with the Country IMS Coordinator
✔️ Ensure backup of data and critical system components
✔️ Support weekly training sessions and submit reports
✔️ Generate monthly systems usage reports
✔️ Uphold software and network security
✔️ Regularly update and maintain system performance
🧑💻 Required Skills & Experience for this Paid IT Internship
- At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced environment
- Background in HTML, PHP-MVC, JavaScript, CSS
- Familiarity with the CodeIgniter framework is a plus
- Basic knowledge of MySQL, Linux (Ubuntu), and Windows 10
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and related systems
